Community Development, Social Welfare and Youth

The Department of Community Development, Social Welfare and Youth is involving in citizens capacity building to identify their problems and find a solution while using the opportunities they have for development activities in order to secure a better life. The department deals with the following issues:

•    Gender Desk

•    Providing maternal and child nutrition education,  health and family planning education violence against children

•     Providing education related to HIV infection and AIDS

•    Coordination of non-governmental organizations (NGOs, CDOs)

•    Special Groups (Elderly and physical disabilities people)

•    Manage the provision of loans to groups of women and youth existing Shinyanga Municipality. Beneficiaries are women aged 18 and more, (those women under that age who have children are eligible for loan) and the youth aged 15 to 35 only.
